Finally dry out the print head with a tissue paper that does not shed alot, taking care not to touch the little copper plates and try not to wipe the print screens directly. Then put it back under the facet and again rinse from both sides under warm water. Then take ammonia in a spray bottle and spray it in both sides until no color comes out. Then take windex in a spray bottle and spray into both sides until no more color comes out. Rinse it from both sides until no more color comes out.
In the bathroom or kitchen sink, run the print head under very warm, not hot, water. Other than these 2 problems it has been a great machine that has printed about 400-500 DVD's & a dozen or so fotos. The only other issue has been that i want the printer to use the black ink used for general printing & not the one used for color in fotos, but it seems to prefer the "color" ink. Have I done something by putting in the 3rd party inks & their chip has caused damage to the print heads.?Ĭan I use Metholated spirits to clean the heads.? or another cleaning solvent.?

I have pulled the print head out according to the setup sheet & put it back in & installed the correct inks again, it comes up with the same message still. recently I changed the empty inks out & replaced them with 3rd party inks., but I dont think the printer recognised the new ink chips (calipo.?) So then I purchased the right inks put them in havent used it now for about 2-3 months n tonite i really needed to scan, but the error message that comes up is the U052 (The type of print head is incorrect.
